Am I a Shaman In the Making? Signs You’re Called to Be a Shaman
How do you know it is real and not just ego? Does it feel like everyone is saying? How do you know it’s real and true for you?
First and foremost, if you have the desire, if you keep thinking about it, it’s real. It’s not more complicated than that.
Most people will feel to be called to be a shaman through a strange occurrence literally referred to as at the call. They’ll get signs, clues, people will tell them they were a shaman in a past life, or maybe their curiosity is piqued through a psychedelic experience or an awakening. Often people get the energetic invitation through an initiation like losing their job, having an accident, losing a loved one or going through a medical ordeal. This opens the doorway.
It’s a real thing, that curiosity is trying to guide you to what you need.
Whether you start that journey for personal reasons, or because you want to be a better healer or start or grow your spiritual business, the process is going to mostly be the same. For most calls to the path, you see that life could be better and you want to be part of making a better world, even if it’s not clear HOW yet.
At the most introductory level you’ll learn how to speak with spirits and live a shamanic life where you understand your purpose and how that relates to the whole. This allows you to make informed choices rooted in who you truly are and what your purpose is. If you pay attention and listen, you don’t have to swim around in the daily anxieties and wonder what you are doing or why you are here.

Allow me to share a bit of my own journey. I was born with natural access to my spiritual gifts, including seeing and hearing spirits on the physical level, prophetic dreams, and psychic insight. Like many people meant to be spiritual guides I was interested in religion and spirituality very much and initially found a home in easter philosophy. Until I had a shamanic initiation as a teenager. All the gifts began to get overwhelming, and it looks like a mental health crisis because there was no context for bringing all these practices together. I had to regroup and reorient myself to the physical plane, because although shamans have heightened awareness, if they are overly sensitive and can’t cope or function in this reality, they can do their job, which is to bring the wisdom of the spirit realm and higher dimension HERE. This was part of my shamanic path, healing journey and learning this enhanced my ability to heal and help others manifest better lives.
Shamans undertake internal journeys through meditation or trance, assist in healing, and help manifest improvements in people’s lives using methods that draw from spirit, the earth, or the higher self. They also work on multiple dimensions or levels of reality like I just mentioned. This holistic approach is what sets shamanism apart from other spiritual practices.
One powerful aspect of shamanism is the emphasis on partnership. As a shaman, I don’t just offer healing; I guide individuals to connect with their own inner healer. It’s a collaborative process that empowers you to take control of your spiritual and emotional well-being.
Shamans don’t do FOR they do WITH.
