What is a shaman? Am I a shaman? How is Shamanic healing different from other modalities?
I’m SpiritBird, master shaman and your guide on this mystical journey. We’re diving deep into the world of shamanism and what makes a shaman and how you know if this path is right for you and where to go with it. It will be packed full of information and insights for your journey.
Before we dive, I want to share an opportunity. A few months ago, I temporarily hit a pause button on Shaman School. We are back and it is the final enrollment. I will not be offering Shaman School in 2025.
Shaman School is already a life and business changer. Students don’t want to leave when it is over, they cry, they say it changed their life, one student recently even said, “after I signed up I was worried I wasted my money. I was so wrong. Every time I come it just gets better than I thought it could.”
This last round is going to be masterful and dynamic, and those who join will get lifetime access to ALL my digital courses, including all of my spiritual business creation and marketing courses. I haven’t added it all up but that’s an easy 5k in bonus courses that you’ll have forever.
I’ll share more later, but for now consider this a formal invitation. If your soul has been calling for this, please set up a call with me. I’ll leave the program info on the show notes, read over the info, apply, and book your call. I have a limited number of seats, each seat gets a special bonus, so the sooner you apply, the more you get.
If you are serious, get on my calendar and let’s have a conversation. Go to holtonhealingarts.com/shaman-school where you’ll be invited to book your Ignite your inner shaman call.
How is shamanic healing different from other modalities?
A shaman is both a healer and a manifester, but unlike many other spiritual practitioners, a shaman doesn’t simply do ‘for’ others; a shaman does ‘with’ others.
This journey is collaborative and is at the heart of what makes shamanic work so powerful. In healing, for instance, a shaman navigates different levels of reality to empower the person they are working with, helping them heal themselves and manifest the life they desire. They bring balance to individuals, communities, and systems.
Let’s start by exploring the unique role of a shaman. Shamans have a profound ability to communicate with spirit. Unlike mediums, who often connect with specific spirits to comfort grieving loved ones, shamans commune with any compassionate spirit, entity, or thing that aids in healing. Including the spirit of the person they are working with.
Shamans operate on multiple levels of reality to achieve their goals. To give you a better understanding, let’s delve into these four levels:
- The Physical dimension: This is the level where everything is separate. It’s the tangible world we all understand, where we have our own houses, cars, and individual lives. It’s 3D, it’s your body.
- The Intuitive dimension: This is the realm where we use psychic senses, telepathy, and energy to connect and understand the world from a different perspective. It’s a realm of intuition and unseen forces. It is a realm where we access information beyond the linear mind. Shamans can see this AND work with it to access wisdom and information that the mind could not rationalize or reason.
- The Dream dimension: This is the realm of symbols, sign archetypes, metaphors, astral, and dreaming. We use our inner journeys to heal and transform our outer realities. Shamans can access these various realms to influence change internally and in the world around them. It’s also a way of understanding the world.
- The Mystical dimension: This is where everything is interconnected. All energy, all spirit, all things are one. It’s the realm of unity and divine consciousness. Shamans are able to see a bigger picture of life and its meaning by accessing this dimension.
Shamans adeptly move between these levels, using whatever is appropriate in the moment to facilitate healing and manifestation. This fluidity and adaptability are what make shamanic practices so effective and unique.
Here is another major distinction! While other spiritual practices might emphasize the mystic dimension as being the most important there is no hierarchy here and a mature, healthy shaman should be able to navigate ALL dimensions, not just the unseen ones.
Now, you don’t need to have all these levels mastered to start or continue training, that’s part of the process! In your journey of learning shamanic practices, you’ll be called to heal whatever area you are lacking.
This allows you to show up in your full power, no longer hiding your spiritual side from the regular world, no longer holding back in your client’s session or when you’re asking for money because you don’t think people see you as valuable. No more letting people push your boundaries. No more band aid fixes your problem or your clients’ problems. A deep understanding of these spiritual realms and how to heal using your gifts and a full understanding of spiritual cosmology.
